Job Brief
The Accounting Trainer is a full-time, remote position dedicated to developing, implementing, and maintaining PIVOTL's comprehensive training program. You will be responsible for onboarding new hires and providing continuous professional development for our existing bookkeeping and leadership teams.
Your primary focus will be leveraging your deep accounting expertise and exceptional communication skills to ensure our staff delivers accurate, high-quality, and compliant client services. This role requires a blend of instructional design, hands-on coaching, and high-level problem-solving to address skill gaps across the organization.
Responsibilities
As the PIVOTL Accounting Trainer, your duties will focus on three key areas: content creation, delivery, and coaching. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Curriculum Development: Organize, structure, and continuously update all training content, including written guides, video libraries (e.g., Loom videos), and slide decks.

Staff Coaching & Improvement: Review staff work samples and Loom videos to identify areas for improvement and provide targeted, one-on-one coaching to help staff elevate their performance.

Training Delivery: Host regular training sessions (both live and virtual) for various team levels, focusing on QBO proficiency, client communication, and mastery of complex accounting concepts.

Assessment & Evaluation: Develop and administer assessments to measure the effectiveness of training programs and gauge staff competency.

Technical Consulting: Serve as an internal subject matter expert and problem solver for challenging client accounting scenarios.
Skills & Requirements

Extensive background and expert-level proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO).

QuickBooks ProAdvisor Level 2 Certification is required.

5+ Years of experience in a professional bookkeeping or accounting role.

Proven experience in a training, teaching, or supervisory role focused on skill development.

Exceptional oral and written communication skills for presenting complex information clearly to varied audiences (new hires, experienced bookkeepers, and leadership).

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to diagnose and fix technical and procedural errors.

Experience creating and organizing digital training content (videos, manuals, presentations).

Dedicated and reliable home office setup, including a high-quality laptop with a video camera and headset.

You will oversee the training for the entire PIVOTL team, including onboarding new bookkeepers, providing continuous professional development to existing staff, and coaching Team Leads on process best practices. Your focus is on closing skill gaps organization-wide. -
How much of the role involves one-on-one coaching?
A significant portion of this role is dedicated to coaching up staff. This involves reviewing work, providing targeted feedback, and hosting one-on-one sessions to help staff problem-solve complex accounting issues and improve their overall efficiency and accuracy. -
