Job Brief
The Team Lead is a full-time, remote leadership position responsible for managing and guiding a dedicated team of 5 to 8 bookkeepers. Your core mission will be to ensure the entire team operates efficiently, meets all deadlines, and delivers consistently accurate financial services to our client portfolio.
You will be the primary point of contact for team members, offering support, training, and strategic direction to master both routine tasks and complex closing challenges. We need a strong communicator and collaborator who can foster a positive, productive, and focused remote work environment.
Responsibilities
As a PIVOTL Team Lead, your duties blend financial expertise with leadership, communication, and client relationship management. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Team Management & Mentorship: Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of 5-8 bookkeepers, providing ongoing feedback, performance reviews, and professional development support.
- Month-End Oversight: Directly oversee and audit the work of your team to ensure a timely and accurate monthly close process for all assigned clients.
- Client Communication: Serve as the financial expert in client calls and meetings, translating financial reports and accounting information into clear, actionable insights that help clients understand their business performance.
- Quality Control & Compliance: Implement and maintain PIVOTL’s best practices and internal controls, ensuring all financial activities comply with relevant regulations and company standards.
- Issue Resolution: Act as the escalation point for complex bookkeeping issues or client inquiries, collaborating across departments to find efficient and satisfactory solutions.
Skills & Requirements
- 3 Years of Experience using QuickBooks Online (QBO).
- 4 Years of Experience working as a professional bookkeeper.
- Proven experience with Accrual Accounting.
- Experience leading or supervising a small team (3+ members) is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional communication skills; comfortable presenting and explaining complex financial terms to both clients and team members.
- Expert-level familiarity with relevant software tools, online apps, and project management systems.
- Proficiency with team collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams or Slack.
- Dedicated and reliable home office setup, including a high-quality laptop with a video camera and headset.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive, proactive, and "can-do" leadership attitude.
